Introduction

Protecting the privacy of your Personal Information is important to the Hexagon Autonomy and Positioning division1 of Hexagon AB (“Hexagon Autonomy and Positioning”) and to the way in which we conduct our business in compliance with laws on privacy, data protection and data security across the world.

When you view this website, we will store some information on the device that you use in the form of a "cookie".  A cookie is a small text file, which the website you are visiting saves on your local device.

Cookies allow us to adjust our website to better match your preferences and improve your browsing experience.  Information contained in the cookie can also be used to monitor your browsing behaviour

We may also use cookies to collect general usage and volume statistical information.  Please note that such information does not contain any personal information.

Persistent and Session Cookies

There are two types of cookies: persistent cookies and session cookies.  Persistent cookies save a file for an extended period on your device and are used, for example, with functions that describe what information is new since you last visited that particular website.  Session cookies are stored temporarily in your device's memory while you are visiting the website and browsing a page, and are used, for example, to determine what language you have chosen.  Session cookies are not stored on your device and are deleted when you close your browser.

Hexagon Autonomy and Positioning may use both types of cookies for the following purposes: (i) to collect visitor statistics; (ii) to enable the user to remain logged in to the subscription service on our website; (iii) to remember user preferences (language, font size etc); and (iv) to remember user agent properties (screen resolution, connection speed etc).

Third Party Cookies

Our partners, affiliates, tracking utility companies, and service providers may use cookies to improve your website experience.  The use of cookies by our partners, affiliates, tracking utility companies, and service providers is not covered by this Policy.  We do not have access to or control over these cookies.

Behavioural Targeting/Re-Targeting

In some cases we partner with a third-party advertising network to manage advertising on third party websites.  Our partner may use cookies and web beacons (see below) to collect non-personally identifiable information about your activities on this and other websites to provide you targeted advertising based upon your interests.  If you do not wish to have your information used in this way then you may opt-out by contacting the third-party advertising network.  Please note this does not opt you out of being served advertising as you will continue to receive generic adverts.

Google Analytics

In some cases our websites use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. ("Google").  Google Analytics uses "cookies", text files that are stored on your computer to help analyze the use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of such websites (including your IP address) might be sent to a Google server in the U.S. and stored there.  Under the authority of Hexagon Autonomy and Positioning, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of our website, compile reports on website activity for Hexagon Autonomy and Positioning and provide other website activity and internet related services for Hexagon Autonomy and Positioning.  In addition, Google may also transfer this information to third parties if required by law or if third parties process the information on Google's behalf.  To see details on what Google Analytics collects and how it is used please refer to http://www.google.com/intl/en/analytics/privacyoverview.html.

You may refuse the use of cookies by changing the settings on your browser.  Alternatively, if available for your browser, you can use the “Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on” available at http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.  We would point out, however, that if you refuse the use of cookies, you may not be able to use all website features.

Web Beacons

In some cases our websites contain electronic images known as web beacons (sometimes called single-pixel gifs).  These are used along with cookies to compile aggregated statistics to analyse how our website is used.  We may also utilise this technology in some of our emails to let us know which emails and links have been opened by recipients.  This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of our customer communications and marketing campaigns.

Our third-party partners may also employ clear gifs (also web beacons/web bugs), images, and scripts that help them better manage content on our website.  This information is not associated with our customers’ or users’ personally identifiable information.

Cookies Utilised on this Website

A list of all cookies used on a particular website, including the period for which the cookie will exist in the browser, can be found by accessing the Cookies Settings, found in the footer of the website.

Setting and Amending Cookies Settings

Upon visiting the website for the first time a user will be prompted to ‘Accept all Cookies’ or access ‘Cookies Settings’, within which a user can specify which types of cookies they wish to allow to be applied to their web-browser.

Note that some cookies are classified as being ‘Strictly Necessary’ to allow the website to function.  It is not possible for a user to opt out of ‘Strictly Necessary’ cookies.  A user can opt out of other types of cookies; however, this may limit certain functionality on the website.

If a user wishes to amend their cookies preferences at any time then they must access ‘Cookies Settings’, which can be found within the footer of the website.

It should be noted that if cookies preferences are changed then the new preferences will be applied to the future use of cookies within the web-browser. Cookies previously applied to the browser will not be removed.  If a user has a requirement to remove historic cookies from their browser then this can be done directly via the settings of the specific web-browser.  The process to remove cookies from a web-browser will differ, dependant on the type of browser being used.
